Potlight Housing Fixtures

We have a wide range of potlight fixtures, all UL listed and approved by the ESA (Electrical Safety Authority). All of our potlight fixtures are made to the highest safety standards and are very reliable, durable, and designed to add beauty and comfort to your home.

New Construction Pot lights

Before drywall is hung, new construction potlights are installed with or without a plate, and are a staple of the potlight industry.

Remodel Retrofit Pot lights

Remodel “retrofit” pot lights are used in finished homes. These can be installed without any damage whatsoever to your ceilings or walls.

They are a common installation that we do every day, so we can fit them quickly and efficiently in your home or business.

Low Voltage Pot lights

Low voltage pot lights use a transformer to reduce the voltage to 12 volts, which reduces heat emission and increases light output.  Used with LEDS they are a great way to help keep power bills down.

Insulation Contact IC Insulated Box Potlights

Used primarily for attic installations, the surrounding box, which contains enough air to dissipate the heat, prevents the hot bulb touching insulation, negating any fire risk.  This eliminates any worries about insulation fires in an attic or area filled with insulation or flammable debris.

Potlights Trims and Bulbs

Here is a list of the various colors we offer in potlight trim, contrast or blend in to your present décor; it’s a hard choice from so many finishes.  They can easily be changed out in the future when you change your room color.

  • Silver Brushed Nickel
  • Satin Nickel
  • White
  • White Matte
  • White Gloss
  • Gold Brown Trims
  • Black
  • Bronze
  • Brushed Chrome
  • Antique Copper
  • Antique Brass
  • Antique Silver

These trims can be turned or tilted in any direction, allowing your potlights to shine on exactly what you want, from a desk to an art collection.  They fit any bulb type, and come with UV protective glass for added protection.

We have lots of options here for you again, and you can discuss with your installation expert exactly the right ones for your requirements.
Potlight bulb reflectors come in the following ratings:

  • MR-16
  • PAR-16
  • PAR-20
  • PAR-30
  • GU-10

Energy-efficient bulbs are always used in potlight installations, inefficient and environmentally unfriendly incandescent bulbs will soon be obsolete. They are not recommended for use in potlights.
Halogen, tungsten and Xenon bulbs are very popular in potlights due to their warm daylight color and better emission of light.  Compact fluorescent light, (CFL) converts electrical power into light far more efficiently than any traditional bulb and makes them environmentally friendly options.

LEDs are very popular too and highly recommended for use in potlights.  They use very little power and can last many years, maintenance free.

Dimmers, Switches, Timers, Motion Sensors

Potlights put on a timer is a great idea and costs very little to do. For safety and security it’s a wise idea.  Potlights can turn off and on in various areas of the house while you are away, creating the illusion that you are home – thereby deterring intruders.

Exterior potlights can be set to come on before you come home from work, or the children come home from school on dark evenings.  Exterior potlights can come on just as it gets dark and turn off at dawn automatically.
Dimmers can make all the difference with lighting in any room.  Slowly turn it down as your children go to sleep, they will never be afraid of the dark again.

In bedrooms they can set the mood and in living rooms you can dim them all the way down while you watch a movie or TV, giving you just enough light to move around the room in safety and find the remote.

A dimmer in a bathroom can turn it from a bright, utilitarian room, into a soft comfortable environment while you take a long relaxing bubble bath.

Did you know you can even install a motion sensor for your potlights? Lights turn on automatically while you are in the room and turn off when you leave.  Imagine how much this can save on your power bills, especially if some members of your family are forgetful!
